Nora Helen Stolarik, age 92, of Canton, formerly of Alliance, died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center.
She was born February 1, 1920, in Tyler County, West Virginia, to Edward and Cora (Williamson) Mikes.
A 1938 graduate of Sistersville High School, Nora worked at Aultman Home Health Care, the former Dalton Sportswear and Sherwood Manufacturing, until retiring in 1990.
Nora attended the 38th Avenue Church of Christ in Canton. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, growing African Violets, attending her church Sunday school class and especially spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughters, Patty (Jack) Pickerel, Sue (Chuck) Armstrong, Judy Sarver, Donna (Gary) Costa, Louise Rose, Mary Wade and Nancy Haught; 20 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren; eighteen great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Detchon and Marjorie Beaver; and one brother, Edward (Ethel) Mikes.
Nora was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Ronald Haught; second husband, Andrew Stolarik, whom she married November 20, 1990, and who died, May 17, 1992; infant daughter, Penny Ann; granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Mulligan; sisters, Mary, Doris and Dorothy; and brothers, Willard, Bob, and Roy.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Richard Mikes officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for their discretion.
