Norma Freed

February 14, 1921 — June 2, 2006

Norma V. Freed, age 85 of Alliance, died at her home on Friday June 2, 2006.
She was born Feb. 14, 1921 in Alliance, Ohio to Frank Allen and Bertha Lena (Glauser) Pettibon and was a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. Freed graduated from Alliance High School and was employed by Ohio Bell for six years.
She was a member of First Immanuel United Church of Christ.
She was also a member of Elks #467 Auxiliary, Swinging Sixties, Alliance Woman's Club and the Alliance Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed golf, bridge and bowling.
Survivors include three sons, James (Rosemary) Freed of Texas, Thomas (Karen) Freed of Cleveland, and Guy (Luann) Freed of Stow; six grandchildren Kathleen (John) Guilliams, Elizabeth, Thomas Jr., Craig, Sarah and Nikki; one great-grandson, Cooper Guillliams, and one sister Elaine Mobilian of Canton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Norman R. Freed, who died Oct. 19, 2004, and whom she married in 1946.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Neal Mann officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
