Norma S. Gates

Norma S. Gates, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Bel Air Assisted Living Center.
She was born August 14, 1917 in St. Paul, MN to the late Dr. Wilton B. Stone and Mollie (Martin) Stone and recently celebrated her 100th birthday.
She graduated from the University of Minnesota and has been an Alliance resident since 1945.
Mrs. Gates was a member of the Alliance Women's Club, the Alliance Republican Club and the Mount Union Women's Club. She was an avid reader and enjoyed visiting with friends and her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Jill (Mike) Srmag and two sons, John M. Gates of Toronto, OH and Steven (Linda) Gates of Lemon Grove, CA; grandchildren, Nicholas (Erica) Srmag, Steven (Ashley) Srmag; and a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Srmag.
She was preceded in death by her husband R.A. "Tony" Gates and her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Steven Gates officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
