Norma L. "Needle" Lorenz age 89, of Alliance, died at 8:42 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born September 20, 1918 to Eugene "E.B." and Theressa (Geisberger) Goff in Irondale, Ohio and lived in the Alliance area since 1940.
She was a member of the Union Avenue United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Lorenz was a 1936 graduate of Minerva High School and retired in 1985 as a seamstress with Lingenfelter Brill. She also was a seamstress at Carlisle's for another 3 years after her retirement. She was an avid seamstress.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary Kay (Gerald E.) McCallum of Alliance, Shirley Lynn (Eric) Mansfield of Canton, Cathy (Robert) Gaug, of Alliance; son, John Kevin Lorenz; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and sister, Janice Guest of Alliance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, John Lorenz Jr. whom she married May 25, 1940 and who died April 22, 1993; and one grandson, Scott Rohr.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Hoyte Wilhelm officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Union Avenue United Methodist Church 1843 S. Union Ave. Alliance, Ohio 44601. Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
