Norma Lee (Mullett) Teeple, age 80, of Alliance, died at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at her home.
She was born May 28, 1928 at home in Columbia (Strasburg), Ohio to Virgil and Wilna (Daugherty) Mullett.
Norma attended Ohio State and Kent State Universities and while at Ohio State she met John N. Teeple while he was in Law School as well as the Navy. John and Norma were married February 6, 1948 and then in 1953 moved with their family to Alliance.
Norma was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Alliance, Alliance Country Club, Alliance Women's Club and many other civic and charitable organizations. She was an avid golfer, world traveler, homemaker and mother. She remained civically active to the end.
Survivors include her sons, John A. (Joeann) Teeple of Rubicon, Wisconsin, Steven R. Teeple of Thousand Oaks, California and Thomas A. Teeple of New York, New York; grandsons, Philip R. Teeple, of Sherman Oaks, California, Christopher L. Penny of Alliance, Nicholas A Teeple and Steven C. Teeple, both of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; sister, Virginia (Mullett) Talbot of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; brother, Elden Mullett of Batavia, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, John N. Teeple who died August 22, 2004; and her daughter, Nancy L. (Teeple) Penny.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009 at First United Presbyterian Church, 425 E. Market St. Alliance, with Rev. James McCurdy officiating. Friends may call from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
