Norma Irene Wasson

Norma Irene (Lare) Wasson, age 93, passed away on May 17, 2023.

She was born on August 18, 1929, in Hartville, but lived most of her life in Alliance, to Sherman and Carrie (Pontius) Lare.

She graduated from Marlboro High School in 1947 as the Salutatorian. Norma worked at Armour SIA in customer service and the order department until her retirement in 1990.

Norma was a member of Christ United Methodist church since 1954. She was also a member of United Methodist Women, Society of Mayflower Descendants, former Regent Jain Bain chapter NSDAR where she was also secretary and the administrative council at her church.

Norma enjoyed traveling, crocheting, crafts and reading.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Sandra Wasson, and Valerie Wasson; granddaughters, Jennifer (John) Vizzuso, Jessica Milligan, and Nicole (Nathan) Erikson; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Marvin Lare.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold T. Wasson; her children, David Wasson and Barbara Wasson Evans; a great-granddaughter; and siblings, Wayne Lare and Marietta Monroe.

A graveside service will be held at Alliance City Cemetery on Wednesday, May 24th at 1:30 p.m.
