Norman A. Sweitzer, age 88, of Canton, went home to be with the Lord on February 28, 2022.
He was born on July 27, 1933 in Alliance to Rollin and Barbara (Baugh) Sweitzer.
Norman graduated from the former Marlboro High School. He retired from PTC Alliance, formerly B&W Tubular in 1996, after 36 years of service. Over the years, he enjoyed boating, fishing, hiking, dining, vehicle mechanics and traveling in their RV through Mexico, Canada and most of the United States. Norman was a veteran of the United States Army (Korean War) and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, React, The Power Squadron, various RV clubs, and was a dedicated Red Cross blood donor for over 50 years. He was a kind, gentle, and faithful man who is cherished by his wife of 66 years and was the perfect Dad to his three daughters. Norman loved spending time with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Charlotte; his daughters, Debbie (Steve) Manring, Kathy (Mark) May, and Denise (Mark) Sibole; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Clifford (Peggy) Sweitzer; and sister, Margaret Rose.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Henry Sweitzer; and his grandson, Brandon Carl May.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church Maximo on Tuesday, March 15th at 10:00 a.m.
Mr. Sweitzer will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 1:45 p.m.
