Norman Zumbrunnen, age 76, of Deerfield, Ohio died Wednesday evening, May 28, 2008 at his home.
He was born January 22, 1932 in Sebring, Ohio to Jacob and Mary (Blasiman) Zumbrunnen.
Norm was a U.S. Army Veteran having served as a corporal during the Korean War. He was a 1949 graduate of Sebring High School and was a branch manager for Cummins Engine Company in Akron until his retirement.
He was a member of the Deerfield United Methodist Church serving as a trustee there, and served as a volunteer for the Marlboro Fire Department for over 35 years and a former captain.
Norm loved and enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Betty J. (Hallam) whom he married November 30, 1952; two daughters, Sandra Kay (Joseph) Trescott of Louisville, and Sue Ann (John) Epling of Deerfield; two granddaughters Kristin (Trey) Schilling and Allyson (Adam) Bolgiano; twin great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Brayden Schilling; one sister, Anna Mae (Tom) Weaver of New Castle, PA; one brother, John (Barbara) Zumbrunnen of Akron; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Beggs officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Last Call Service will be held at 10:45 a.m. prior to the visitation conducted by the Stark County Firefighters Association. Interment will be at Marlboro Cemetery.
