O. Kay (Vaughn) Best Bravis, age 64, of Alliance passed away at 1:20 a.m., Monday, April 14, 2014, at her home.
She was born August 24, 1949, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Oliver P. and Helen M. (Wade) Vaughn and resided in Alliance most of her life.
A 1967 graduate of Marlington High School, Kay was employed as a home health aide with Caring Hands for 23 years.
Kay was a member of the Eagles Club Aerie No. 2174 and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Shonn (Sherry) Vaughn of Alliance, and Rogina (Michael) Trent of North Benton; and stepchildren, whom she loved as her own, Adam (Cindy) Wimer, Tony (Amy) Hinerman of Michigan, Keith Best and Teresa Best, both of Alliance, and Dennis "Dink" Drake Jr. of Wooster. She is also survived by three brothers, Oliver J. Vaughn of Alliance, Gary A. Vaughn of Canton, Charles D. Wilson of Alliance; two sisters, Goldie (Don) Ward of Minerva and Charlene (Mark) Welch of W. Palm Beach, FL; 25 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many awesome friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Charles Wilson; brother, Leroy "Skippy" Vaughn; and stepson, Clayton (Willie) Best.
Private family services will be held. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2014, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
