Odell F. Hollaway, age 93, formerly of Alliance, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2007. She was a resident of Medina Retirement Community, Medina, Ohio.
She was born January 19, 1914 in Springfield, Tennessee to Rufus Allen and Isabella Jackson Frazier.
For many years she and her husband owned the Beach Creek Walking Horse Farm. She was a member and trustee of the Buckeye Walking Horse Association.
She was a longtime member and former Sunday school teacher at the First Baptist Church in Alliance.
Most importantly she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who deeply touched the lives of all who knew her.
Mrs. Hollaway is survived by her daughter, Jane (Rod) Russin of Medina; her daughter-in-law Dr. Faye Hollaway of Alliance; granddaughters, Tia (Charles) Naegle of Hinckley, Dr. Stacey Hollaway (Frank Galletta) of Louisville, Amy Hollaway ( Dr. Ken Swope) of Muncie, Ind; grandson, John R. Russin of Cleveland; great grandsons, Brice Milla, Matt Milla, and Charles Mac Naegle, all of Hinckley, and great grand-daughters, Dana Grace Galletta and Tessa Odell Galletta of Louisville, sister Delphia Bennett of Margate, Fl. and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her step-mother, Liz Frazier, her husband, Marvin M. Hollaway whom she married January 23, 1932 and celebrated 69 years of marriage; sisters, Nellie and Lilly Mae; brothers, Herbert and Rufus Allen Frazier, Jr; son, Rudy and grandson, David R. Russin.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted with Pastor Gordon Thomas officiating at the First Baptist Church, 1659 W. State St, Alliance, Ohio on Saturday July 21, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
