Olin H. Conrad, age 97, of Alliance, passed away at 3:05 p.m., Friday, September 19, 2014, at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born December 22, 1916, in Columbiana County, Ohio, to Cregg and Florence (Benner) Conrad.
Olin was a Private First Class in the United States Army, serving in World War II. He retired from dairy and beef farming, enjoyed baseball, and was a member of the Knox Ruritans and area Senior Citizen's groups.
He was a longtime member of the former Mount Carmel United Methodist Church in Homeworth.
Survivors include his daughters, Diana (Ted) Hawk of East Rochester, Ohio and Cindy Kelly of Alliance; three sons, Gary (Ann) Conrad of Sebring, Eugene Conrad of Clearwater, Florida and Timothy (Robin) Conrad of Alliance; grandchildren, Rechelle (Joe) Curfman, Matt (Ginger) Hawk, Shannon (Ben) Mathes, Cole (Courtney) Conrad, Kyle Conrad, Chris Knipp and Lindsay (Dan) Riley; 13 great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter; sisters, Evelyn Reustle and Mary Penny, both of Alliance, and Viola Blanchard of Homeworth and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 56 years, Helen L. Conrad whom he married November 10, 1945 and who died in 2001; and siblings, Dwayne, Arnold, Mable, Lester, Gladys, Violet, Clayton and Dale.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Elaine Weaver officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
