Oliver Junior 'Ollie' Vaughn, age 80, of Alliance, passed away at 11:55 a.m., Saturday, May 27, 2017 at his home.
He was born March 4, 1937 in Mansfield, Ohio to Oliver P. Vaughn and Helen M. (Wade) Wilson.
A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Ollie served in the Korean War and later retired as a driver for Carnation Disposal.
Ollie went to Catholic Community Services Adult Day Care in Louisville and also enjoyed working crossword puzzles, doing crafts, sitting outside and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his fiancee, Betty; daughters, Laura L. Vaughn of Canton and Teresa McCown of Canal Fulton; grandchildren, Stanely D. Pearson, Tinesha Pearson, LaKisha Bristow, Nikeita Bristow, Channing Vaughn, Candy Wiley, Andrew Peterson IV, April Tolley, Tim Tolley and Eric Wilson; 20 great grandchildren; siblings, Goldie Vaughn Ward of Minerva, Gary Allen Vaughn of Alliance and Charlene Wilson Welsh of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Thelma Rexcene Vaughn; sister, Olive Kay Vaughn; and brother, Charles David Wilson.
Military services will be held Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 2:30 at Ohio Western Reserve National
Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
