Patricia Barnes Roman passed away Saturday November 20, 2021 following a short illness.

Patricia was a lifelong resident of Alliance, born April 5, 1949.   A 1967 graduate from Alliance High School, she worked for about 10 years as a secretary at Babcock & Wilcox Research Center.  She left to pursue her college degree and graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Business Administration.  She was at one time a member of the Alliance Woman’s Club, the board of the Alliance Community Concert Association and a member of the ASME Women’s Auxiliary.  She loved to travel, was a great cook, and enjoyed nature photography during her many travels and while walking in local parks.  She traveled to many areas of the world including Europe, Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, several regions of Canada and enjoyed multiple Amtrak Trips across our beautiful country and cruises with friends.  She had a green thumb and enjoyed growing house plants and was especially fond of her herb garden.  She also attended most of the local crafts shows and loved talking to the artisans about their crafts and had many craft projects of her own over the years and was an accomplished seamstress.  She loved her large Italian family and their history and her many cousins and never missed the family reunions.  She was a compassionate caregiver to many members of her family during their hours of need.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Garry W. Roman of Alliance, her brother Leslie M. Barnes (Joanne) of Homeworth, her two nieces Pam (Brad) Heestand and Stephanie Steele, her sister-in-law, Sara Baumgartner, her two nephews Robert T. Baumgartner (Kelly Green) and Brian S. Baumgartner.

She was preceded in death by her parents Helen “Lena” Favazzo Barnes and Merle Barnes, and by her beloved brother Robert J. Baumgartner.
