Patty J. Lab, age 50 of Alliance, died at 9:06 a.m. July 27, 2007 at her home. She was born Sept. 22, 1956 in Alliance, Ohio to John and Gladys (Scott) Chernikovich and was a lifelong area resident. Patty attended Marlington High School, and graduated in 1992 from Mansfield Business College for Security and Private Investigation. She later went to Canton Nursing School and in 2004, graduated with as a Licensed Practical Nurse through the Canton City Schools Adult Education Program. Patty previously worked at Electronics Circuit Design and later as a Charge Nurse at Bel-Air Care Center for one year. She formerly attended First Church of God and was a former member of the Eagles. Survivors include her husband, Rick T. Lab, whom she married May 19, 1984; daughters, Stacy Carnes of Alliance, and Kelly A. (Dan) Bing of Canton, son, Josh Lab of Alliance; grandchildren, Katelyn McCourt, Kristin McCourt, Devon Bing, Kara Carnes, and Gannon Bing; and brother, Frank (Jane) Chernikovich of Alliance; two nephews, Frankie and John and one great-nephew, Logan.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Peters officiating. Memorial Contributions may be made to Alliance Visiting Nurse Hospice Association, 885 S. Sawburg Rd. Alliance, Ohio 44601. Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
