Paul Baughman

Paul J. Baughman, age 85, of Alliance, died October 31, 2008 at 8:10 p.m. at McCrea Manor Nursing Home.
He was born April 11, 1923 in Paris, Ohio to Ferd and Ola (Niederhiser) Baughman and lived in the Alliance area for the past sixty years.
Mr. Baughman graduated from Minerva High School and was the Manager and Vice President of Sheppard and Morris Lumber Company in Youngstown, Ohio, and also worked at Taylorcraft in Alliance.
A member of Beechwood United Methodist Church, Paul was an avid sportsman, playing baseball, bowling and golf. He was a member of the Alliance Senior Citizens Center, Stark County Senior Golf Association, many lumber organizations, and former member of the Alliance Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine R. (Sellers) Baughman, whom he married April 27, 1947; daughter, Beverly (Michel) Daze? of Fairfax, Va., son, Robert (Rhonda) Baughman of Matthews, NC, brother-in-law, Ronald (LaDene) Sellers of Salt Lake City, Utah; and grandchildren, Matthew and Jordan Daze? and Casey and Corey Baughman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Melvin "Steve" Baughman, and sisters, Neva Bowman and Rachel Plank.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Wallace of Beechwood United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Beechwood Cemetery.
