Paul E. Baum, age 85 of Alliance, died at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2005 at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born Feb. 6, 1920 in East Canton, Ohio to Elijah and Edna (Motts) Baum and was a lifelong area resident.
A graduate of East Sparta High School, he retired from Republic Steel Company after working as a motor inspector. He was a member of New Franklin Lutheran Church, and enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling.
Mr. Baum was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes (Hudak) Baum, whom he married March 25, 1944, son, Ronald P. (Judy) Baum of Woodinville, Wa., daughter-in-law Anna Baum of Columbus, son David M. (Kim) Baum of Homeworth, five grandchildren, Forrest, Jonathon, Laurel, Taylor, and Brandon; one great-grandson, Jack; five brothers, Robert (Joyce) Baum of Dover, Elijah (Gayle) Baum of Frankenmuth, Mi., Virgel (Louise) Baum of East Sparta, Raymond (Janice) Baum of Magnolia, and Glen (Marge) Baum of Mineral City, and four sisters, Marie (Roy) Little of Magnolia, Doris Farber of Sandy Valley, June Fiddler of Canton, and Barbara (Donald) Harper of Carrollton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Chester Baum and Delbert Baum, and one son, Larry Baum.
Services will be held at Noon Saturday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Nancy Bacon officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
