Paul B. Blair, age 88, of Alliance, died at 6 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2011, at Bel Air Care Center.
He was born May 7, 1923, in Alliance, to George Leonard and Laura Jane (Barnett) Blair and was a lifelong Alliance resident.
Paul was an Alliance High School graduate and was former co-owner of Nelson Employment in Canton and co-owner of the former Shell Station in Alliance.
He was a former member of the Union Avenue United Methodist Church. He was a recreational pilot, loved cars and was very family oriented.
Paul was a Veteran of the United States Air Force having served during World War II.
Surviving him are his nieces, Marilyn McCully of Minerva; Eileen (Bob) Harrison of Louisville, and Barbara (Ray) Standing and Brenda Blair both of Alliance; nephew, William (Karen) Blair of Canton; special friend, Betty Hoopes of Alliance; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Clyta Tschabold and brothers, Charles and Howard Blair.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Paul's family wishes to give special thanks to Betty Hoopes and family, Bel Air Care Center, Dr. McGrady and Alliance Community Care for their loving care of Paul.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
