Paul E. Darnell, age 87 of Alliance, died at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2011 at Sterling House.
He was born December 6, 1921 in Alliance, Ohio to James and Rachel L. (McKibben) Darnell. Mr. Darnell was a licensed plumber and also was a Manager for Sears and Montgomery Ward.
A former member of Christ United Methodist Church, Mr. Darnell served with the U.S. Army during WWII.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Todd Vermilya of Loudonville, OH and Jennifer Procker of Mansfield, OH; and four great-grandchildren, Jordan, Emma, Maria and Walter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary E. (Davis) Darnell, whom he married April 12, 1942, and who died May 27, 2009, daughter, Jane Vermilya, son, James Darnell, and brother, Howard Darnell.
Chapel Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Highland Memorial Park with Rev. Karl Stonebraker officiating.
