Paul Gergel age 74 of Minerva died at Alliance Community Hospital at 2:30 a.m. Friday November 21, 2003.
He was born May 21, 1929 in Canton, Ohio to John and Mary (Bota) Gurgle.
A graduate of Sebring High School, Mr. Gergel retired from Ford Motor Company after working as a welder.
A U.S. Army Veteran, he attended Foursquare Gospel Church in Waynesburg, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling.
Mr. Gergel is survived by his wife Linda (Stevens) Gergel, one daughter Debbie Osborne of Hanoverton, one granddaughter, one grandson, one great-grandson, one step-son James Mosier of Alliance, one step-daughter Loretta Deitz of Alliance, one step-grandson, one brother George Gurgle of North Benton, three sisters Anna Hapold of Massillon, Florence Detweiler of Massillon and Helen Inderwich of Atlanta, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Eli, John and Theodore, and one sister Vera.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Sebrell officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be in Alliance City Cemetery.
