Paul H. Thompson, II, age 56, of Hartville, died Tuesday afternoon, October 26, 2010 at his home.
He was born December 25, 1953 in Alliance, Ohio, to Paul H. Thompson, I and Lois E. (Wank) Thompson.
Paul was a 1972 graduate of Alliance High School. He was employed as a journeyman diesinker at Canton Drop Forge and formerly employed by Transue Williams Forge.
He was a member of the Conrad Masonic Lodge No. 271 F & AM, Dr Roach Outdoor League, Minerva Eagles Aerie No. 2199 and member of International Association of Machinists. He enjoyed boating, camping and was a fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed being with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Vadasz) Thompson whom he married September 26, 1986; his mother, Lois E. Thompson of Alliance; two sisters, Paula (Lee) Springer of Alliance and Gail Jefferys of Akron; several nieces and nephews; and three brothers-in-law, Paul (Roseann) Vadasz, Howard (Judy) Vadasz, and Robert (Susan) Vadasz.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Paul H. Thompson I.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor James McCurdy of First United Presbyterian Church officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service. A Masonic Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday to which the public is welcome to attend.
