Paul J. Schweizer, age 71 of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord at 11:04 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2006 at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born Aug. 11, 1934 in Canton, Ohio to August and Rose (Alleman) Schweizer and was a lifelong resident.
Mr. Schweizer attended Alliance High School and was employed as a heater at Transue and Williams Forging for 45 years until retiring in 1997.
He was a member of Marlboro Christian Church, and enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time outdoors.
Mr. Schweizer was a dedicated husband and father, and is survived by his wife, Martha (Goshorn) Schweizer, whom he married July 25, 1953; children, Debra (Nick) Tryforos of Alliance, Paul (Carol) Schweizer of Rootstown, Gina (Roger) Peate of Alliance, and Craig (Shellie) Schweizer of Gahanna, Ohio; twelve grandchildren, two great-grandsons, and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Schweizer was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and four brothers.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Marlboro Christian Church with Pastor Ed Harnish officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
