Paul O. Wiley, age 84, of Alliance, died at 10:10 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born October 11, 1926, in Marlboro, Oh., to Charles W and Margaret E. (Wearstler) Wiley.
Paul was a 1944 graduate of the former Marlboro High School. He was employed by the former Taylorcraft Corporation, and later retired from Transue and Williams Stamping Division, as a bookkeeper, and was in charge of the store room.
He was past president of the Union of Transue and Williams Stamping Plant, member of the Taylorcraft Flying Club and had his private pilots license for many years. He enjoyed flying, woodworking and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Surviving him are his loving companion, Betty Erb of Alliance; son, Dan L. (Linda) Wiley of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; two daughters, Diane (Ed) Witham and Brenda (Mark) Lare, both of Alliance; nine grandchildren, Chad, Brent and Trevor Lare, Dan, Todd and Robert Wiley, and Eddy, Katie and Brittany Witham; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy (McCann) Wiley, whom he married October 21, 1944, and who died February 16, 1987; infant son, Paul; grandson, Mark Lare; granddaughter, Lindsay Witham and brother, Edwin.
A private service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2011, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
