Pauline Doris Reed, age 86, of Alliance, Ohio, died at 9:25 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Aultman Hospital.
She was born September 4, 1923, in Brookville, Pennsylvania, to John and Fay (Gilhousen) Dickey.
Pauline was a 1941 graduate of Alliance High School and was formerly employed by Sherwood Manufacturing in Alliance for 25 years until her retirement in 1985.
She was a member of Union Avenue United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Y Wives for over 60 years and served on her high school reunion committee. She enjoyed reading, old movies, and Cleveland sports teams. Pauline loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Sheryl (Dennis) Hardman of Louisville; son, Bob Reed of Alliance; four grandchildren, Katie (Tom) Palus of Rocky River, Ohio Sarah E. Hardman of Brooklyn, New York, Scott (Teresa) Reed of Alliance, and Bryan (Cathy) Reed of Spring, Texas; four great grandchildren Cody, Philip, Zachary and Emily Reed; and a niece and several nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert L. Reed, Sr. whom she married in 1941 and who died May 15, 1986; brother, Kenneth Dickey; and sister, Sara Lewis.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Peters officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
