Pearl M. Newman, age 95 of Alliance, died at 5:50 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005 at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born Oct. 4, 1910 to Nathan and Stella (Shoecraft) Lesher, and lived in Alliance since 1957.
Mrs. Newman graduated from Tarkio College in Tarkio, Missouri with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and also attended Mount Union College.
She was employed as an Elementary Teacher at Regina Coeli Catholic Church. She was a member of Union Avenue United Methodist Church, Alliance BPO Elks Auxiliary, and enjoyed playing bridge and painting landscapes.
Survivors include her son, Gary (Barbara) Newman of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; three grandchildren, Bridgette, Eric and Todd; three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Ethan and Brianne; and one sister, Jesse Morgan of Aiken, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Max Newman, three sisters and one brother.
A private graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Rebecca Innerst officiating, with interment to follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
