Pete W. Solvey, age 66, of Waynesburg, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, January 26, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Canton.
He was born December 17, 1945, in Canton Township to Michael and Mabel L. (Numan) Solvey and has resided in Waynesburg for 27 years.
Pete was a proud truck driver for Smith Evergreen Nursery, in Magnolia, and was a jack of all trades.
He was a United States Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Donna (Day) Solvey, stepdaughter, Ginny (Paul) Gillman of Alliance; stepson, Bryan Miller of Marlboro; four beloved grandchildren, Natasha, Maylie, Olivia, and Ariel of Alliance; two sisters, Virginia (Carl) Stallman, Suzette Solvey; two brothers, John (Nina) Solvey and Charles Solvey and two daughters, Brenda Bowe and Sheila Meyers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and two sisters.
Services will be held at 8 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2012, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the service.
