Preston L. Wegman, age 90, of Sebring, passed away on July 19, 2021.
He was born on July 24, 1930 in Adolph, West Virginia to Adolph and Elsie Fincham Wegman.
Preston enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1949. In 1953 he started his career as a machinist; Preston then went on to be a supervisor of production and maintenance, a safety director, and a plant engineer. He retired from GenCorp in Newcomerstown, Ohio. He was a member of ARRL (American Radio Relay League) and the Alliance Amateur Radio Club, he also loved to sing, play the guitar and piano, and served as a ventriloquist and a clown in his local community.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothy of Sebring; his children, Preston (Sandie) Wegman II, Dara (Kevin) Geedey, Curtiss and Cortland; a brother, Kenneth Wegman; two sisters, Gretchen Cleavanger and Sylvia Fox; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers; two sisters; and a daughter-in-law, Linda Wegman.
A funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on August 21st at 4:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at Sebring Grandview Cemetery.
