Quentin L. Durell, age 96, of Alliance, died at 7:13 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Altercare of Alliance.
He was born June 11, 1919 in Alliance, to Arthur and Sarah Hazel (Peterman) Durell.
A graduate of Alliance High School, Mr. Durell worked as a Machinist at Morgan Engineering.
A WWII U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of the D.A.V. and enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, traveling, and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include, daughter, Nancy E. Doyle of Alliance; grandchildren, Kelly M. Duke of Alliance, Sarah M. Doyle of Alliance, Eric Q. Durell of Crofton, MD, Todd Durell, Rachel Costa, and Victoria Sponseller; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Robert, David and Gary; his wife, Ellen L. (McGowan) Durell, whom he married March 11, 1945, and who died May 29, 2011; and brothers, Charles and Kenneth.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2015 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with The Rev. Timothy Muse officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
