R. Clifton Cowen

R. Clifton Cowen, age 63, of Alliance, died at 7:25 p.m., Saturday, October 20, 2012, at Aultman Hospital.
He was born April 12, 1949, in Canton, Ohio, to Robert V. and Anna F. (Cline) Cowen.
A 1967 graduate of Alliance High School, Cliff attended Virginia Tech, Kent State University and the Naval War College.
He was a self-employed pilot and balloonist, and United States Navy Veteran, having served during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his daughter, Samantha (Todd) Kornely of Little Torch Key, Fla.; cousins, Ginny Curran of Uniontown, and Carol Ann Cowen of Akron, OH; and several other cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and brother, Donald B. Cowen.
Per his wishes, Cliff will be cremated and taken to all of his favorite places.
