Ralph A. Cooper, age 69, of Alliance, passed away at 7:10 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center after a long illness.
He was born November 9, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York, the son of the late Cecil and Irene (Piscatelli) Cooper.
Ralph loved music and played with the Monarch Band in his 20's.
Ralph worked for Bell Telephone in Florida and Kentucky and later years as a finance manager.
A veteran of the United States Army, Ralph was in the 10th Special Forces. He was a member of the 10th Special Forces Division and 82nd Airborne Division.
Survivors include his fiancé, Joanne Wright of Alliance; children, Ron Cooper, Carey (Greg) Ferreri and Michelle (Artie) Baldini, all of Silver Lake, OH; Debbie Koontz of Shepherdsville, KY; and Trista (Kevin) Karl of Cuyahoga Falls; his extended family, Cassie Bossert and Tracie (Noel) Hatfield; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchild; his loving sister, Renee (Dee) Staples of Ottawa, Canada; brother, Stephan (Rosemary) Cooper of Boston, Mass.; and two nephews and three nieces.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
