Ray Frederick "Fred" McAlicher, age 91, of Alliance, passed away at 7:15 a.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at his home.
He was born November 2, 1924, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to Chester E. Sr. and Vesta (Evans) McAlicher, and has been an area resident since November of 1942.
Mr. McAlicher attended Quincy High School in Pennsylvania and worked for Alliance City Schools. He retired in 1986 after 31 years serving in various capacities, including bus driver and delivery driver for the schools and 10 years as a school crossing guard for the Alliance Police Department.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret E. (Mick) McAlicher, whom he married July 16, 1953; two daughters, Shirley B. McAlicher of Atwater and Sandra V. Binius of Homeworth; two grandchildren, Joanne P. Krahling and Matthew F.C. (Lindsey) Erisey and four great-grandchildren, Isabella Krahling, Bruce Krahling III, Nicholas Krahling and Joseph Erisey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruth; and four brothers, Chester E. Jr, Edward A., James E. and Lester W.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Randy Gobely officiating Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2015. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
