Raymond E. Cunningham, age 86, of Alliance, died at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at his home.
He was born April 9, 1925, in Ravenna, to Lloyd B. and Elnora G. (Wilcox) Cunningham.
Raymond was employed as a tree trimmer with Nelson Tree Service for 25 years and then worked for the City of Alliance Street Department, retiring after 24 years of service.
He was a former member of the First Christian Church. He liked fishing and gardening, and especially liked growing his tomatoes.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma (Campbell) Cunningham of Alliance, whom he married March 26, 1951; children, Linda (Chuck) Richards, Beverly (Michael) Haberland, Brenda Shortridge and Raymond A. Cunningham, all of Alliance; thirteen grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Roy; sister, Iva Ault; brother, Thomas Cunningham; daughter, Donna Light; and son-in-law, David Light.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Don Nicely officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
