Raymond Paul Summers, age 81, of Alliance died at 6:32 p.m. January 31, 2009 at his home following an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 13, 1927 in North Georgetown to the late Hazen and Pearl (Zyrd) Summers.
Mr. Summers was employed by Kintz Construction and owner of Summers Construction in Alliance.
A member of the Beechwood Untied Methodist Church, Mr. Summers was involved with the Beechwood Boy Scouts and Beechwood Methodist trustees. He enjoyed building projects and the repairing of equipment.
He is survived by his wife, Goldie (Fryfogle) Summers, whom he married August 18, 1948; daughter Lori (Mark) Bellay; sons, Ron and Randy (Tammy); granddaughters, Kristin Bellay and Kelli Bellay; sister, Noni Toth of Nevada, and brothers, Roger and Bruce.
He was preceded in death by sister, Dorothy Freshley and brother Norman.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Wallace officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beechwood United Methodist Church, 3450 Beechwood Ave. Alliance, Ohio, 44601 or to the Alliance Visiting Nurse Hospice Association, 885 S. Sawburg, Suite 106, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
