Raymonde Rose Hoopes, age 82, died at 2:50 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Autumn Aegis in Lorain, Ohio.
She was born February 18, 1931, in Alliance, Ohio to Charles and Rosa (Robb) Hoopes.
A graduate of Alliance High School and Dale Carnegie Course, Miss Hoopes resided in Alliance most of her life before moving to Amherst, Ohio in November 2012, with her nephew Greg Hoopes for care, and to be closer to her family, and her beloved dog, Ginger.
Miss Hoopes worked for Hughes Aircraft, in CA for approximately five years, before working as a Letter Carrier/Clerk for the United States Postal Service. She retired in 1991 after 22 years and 8 months of service.
A member of the Alliance Church of the Nazarene since 1973, Raymonde enjoyed finding rocks, gems and minerals, and was a member of the Quilters Guild, and an avid genealogist.
Survivors include nephews, John (Marla) Zuch of North Glenn, CO, Jeff (Laurie) Hoopes, of Vermilion, OH, Greg (Roberta) Hoopes of Amherst, OH; nieces, Virginia nee: Oswalt Campbell, of Glendale, AZ, Alexis nee: Zuch (Norm) Stevenson, of Montrose, CO, M. Colleen nee: Hoopes Blewitt, of Amherst, OH, Charlene nee: Hoopes (Ed) Friend, of Oberlin, OH, many great nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Ginger.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Myron E. Hoopes, sisters, Wilda Oswalt and Wanda Zuch, and nephew, Richard Oswalt.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Mainwaring Chapel at Alliance City Cemetery with Pastor Glenn Davidson officiating. Interment will follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
