Rev. Enzie B. Wade, age 85, of Hanoverton, Ohio, died at 3:10 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2011, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born September 9, 1925, in Cameron, West Virginia, to Enzie B. Sr. and Cecile (Danley) Wade.
Enzie was formerly employed by Town Construction in Canton. He became a Methodist pastor and served in the Steubenville, Canton, St. Clairsville and Mahoning Valley Districts and was currently pastoring at New Garden and Franklin Square United Methodist Churches. He was a member of the New Garden United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing. Enzie especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Enzie was a United States Navy Veteran having served in the Atlantic and Pacific during World War II.
Survivors include his wife Sue A. (Russell) Wade of Hanoverton, whom he married May 21, 1988; three sons, Kenneth Wade of Jacksonville, Fla., James Wade of Wintersville, and David (Heidi) Wade of Alliance; eight grandchildren; two stepdaughters Kim (Bobby Lewis) Markopoulos of Northfield, Oh and Melissa (Sean) Stranger of Canton; four stepgrandchildren; sister, Imogene Zamiliski of Carrollton; several nieces; a nephew; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Terry; and first wife, Bessie Wade.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastors Douglas George of the First United Methodist Church and Rev. Dan Bryant, Mahoning Valley District Superintendent officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m Tuesday. Interment will be at Baxters Ridge Cemetery in Carroll County.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Garden United Methodist Church, 7165 State Rt. 9 Hanoverton, Ohio, 44423.
