Rev. Frank Gross Jr

The Reverend Frank Gross Jr., entered the church triumphant with his wife by his side on August 26, 2018 at 10:50 p.m.
Pastor Gross was born June 15, 1943, in Grayling, Michigan, to Frank Gross Sr. and Viola June (Bridges) Gross.
Surviving Pastor Gross is his wife, Linda (Throckmorton) Gross, whom he married September 29, 1985; children, Heidi (Eric) Hess of Dublin, Ohio, Heather (Robert) Townsend of St. Paris, Ohio, Amy (Andrew) Top of Loveland Ohio, and Sean (Beth) Gross of Cave Creek, Arizona; and eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pastor Gross received a Bachelor of Science in Bio-Chemistry from Central Michigan University and a Master of Divinity from Hamma School of Theology from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. He was ordained June 13, 1975, as a Pastor in the Ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, serving three full-time calls during his years of ordination; Covenant Lutheran Church in St. Paris, Ohio, St. John Lutheran Church in Warren, Ohio and St Paul's Lutheran Church in Alliance, Ohio.
He retired from full-time ministry on January 1, 2008, but continued serving parishes on a part-time basis at the request of his Bishop.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 31, 2018, at St. Stephen Martyr Lutheran Church, 4600 Fulton Dr. NW, Canton, OH 44718 where Pastor Gross is a charter member. Calling hours will be held, from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, August 30 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. -11 a.m., prior to the service at the church on Friday. After cremation Pastor Gross's cremains will be placed in the Columbarium at St. Stephen Martyr Lutheran Church.
