Richard Alan Humphrey, age 60, of Homeworth, passed away at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, November 16, 2014, at McCrea Manor.
He was born December 10, 1953, in Alliance, Ohio, to Norman and Patricia (Swindell) Humphrey.
Dick was a 1972 graduate of West Branch High School and was self-employed.
He was a very generous, giving person and his many friends and neighbors of the Homeworth community are indebted to him for his friendship and service.
Dick was a member of Middle Sandy Evangelical Presbyterian Church and was a blessing and an encouragement to the congregation in the exercise of his faith and understanding of the Scriptures. During his recent months at McCrea Manor he was a creative joy and blessing to staff and residents alike.
Survivors include his mother, Patricia Humphrey; son, James Richard Humphrey; daughter, Jessica Lynn (James) Kirtos and granddaughter, Elizabeth; sisters, Kathleen (Charles) Ratie and Nancy (James) McCorkhill; and former wife, Bonnie Kay Humphrey.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Humphrey, who died in 2000.
Services will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, November 21, 2014, at Middle Sandy Evangelical Presbyterian Church with Pastor Tracy Edwards officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
