Richard A. Brown, age 65, of Alliance died at 8:39 p.m. January 27, 2009 at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born Feb. 4, 1943, in Alliance, Ohio to Carl F. and Edith (Lehman) Brown. Mr. Brown graduated from Alliance High School in 1961 and worked as an Assembler at Alliance Machine Company and Morgan Engineering.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church; past president of the Dante Club, member of Christopher Columbus, former Vice President of the Athletic Association at Alliance Machine, past president of the Atwater Fire Department, and veteran of the U. S. Army.
Survivors include his children, Christine (Brown) Meyer, William Brown and Heidi (Brown) Vance; grandchildren, Taylor Vance, Kayley Olson, Drew Brown, Austin Vance, Brooklyn Brown, Malcum Salyers IV and Ty Meyer; and step-sister Judy (Paul) Huston.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Gwen A. (Reno) Brown, whom he married Dec. 2, 1967, and who died Sept. 8, 2007.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday.
