Richard Gardner Evans, age 83, of Alliance, passed away at 12:51 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2014, at Aultman Compassionate Care Center.
He was born July 18, 1931, in Binghamton, New York, to Paul G.W. and Agnes (Newland) Evans.
He was employed as a machinist at Morgan Engineering and a truck driver.
Richard was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW and the DAV.
Survivors include his wife, Betty (Kovach) Evans whom he married in 1961 and celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary; sons, Richard Jr. (Cindy) Evans of Mineral Ridge, George (Linda) Evans of Niles and Edward (Debbie) Evans of Milwaukie, Oregon; daughter, Paula (Wes) Hilbert of Erie, Pennsylvania; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, James Evans and Paul Evans Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Highland Memorial Park.
