Richard L. "Dick:" Fetters

Richard L. "Dick" Fetters, age 83, of Alliance, passed away at 7:11 p.m., Thursday, June 11, 2015, at Alliance Community Hospital lovingly surrounded by his family.
He was born October 21, 1931, in Salem, Ohio, to Raymond and Mary (Jewell) Fetters.
Dick was a graduate of Goshen High School in Damascus and was employed as a dispatcher at Babcock and Wilcox in Barberton for more than 21 years.
A member of St. Paul's Lutheran church, he served as chairman of the property committee, a council member and sang in the church choir.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean Conflict.
Dick's memberships included North Georgetown American Legion, Canal Fulton VFW, and past president of Taylorcraft Flying Club. He enjoyed flying.
Survivors include his daughters, Jill (Ron) Castina and Jody Saunier, both of Alliance; brother, Robert Fetters; and five grandchildren, Tony (Chrissy) Castina, Angie (RD) Britton, Andy (Stephanie) Castina, Danielle (Aaron) Fleming and Renee Boschini; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie L. Fetters, whom he married June 27, 1954 and who died January 21, 2006; and a brother, Ronald Fetters in 1999.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Timothy Muse officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 3830, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
