Richard James Jenkins

Richard James Jenkins passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at the age of 92.
Richard was born on January 10, 1924 in Deerfield, Ohio, where he graduated from Deerfield School and lived his entire life.
He was a World War II Veteran who served in the South Pacific in the Philippines as a Tank driver.
He was a Retired Pattern maker of 40 plus years and a Prize Winning Woodcarver, who belonged to the Tree City Carvers Club. His carvings are a family Treasure.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Iris (Fawcett) Jenkins, his father Chester Jenkins, mother Irene B. Jenkins & his seven year old brother Maurice Jenkins.
His family includes two daughters Becky Leask & husband Bob Leask of Deerfield, Ohio & Risa Jenkins of Myerstown, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren; Robyn Wilson & husband LaMar, Rachel Butler & husband Frank, James Leask & wife Jennifer; Lizette Barton & husband Mike, Kenny Royer & partner Lacy, and Nick Royer; seven great-grandchildren; John Glesenkamp, Robert Wilson (RJ), Colton Leask, Skylar Leask, Abigail Butler (Abby), Gabrielle Barton (Ellie), and Max Barton.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2016 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Russell Libb and Rev. Ruth Roth officiating. Friends may call the hour prior to the services.
Interment will be at Deerfield Cemetery.
