Richard "Kibby" Hartman Kibler, 83, of Alliance passed away peacefully Nov. 11, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center while surrounded by his loved ones. He was the eldest son of Duane Miller and Mary Kathryn (Hartman) Kibler and namesake of his maternal grandparents, Charles and Emma Hartman. Dick was a highly skilled welder whose accomplishments were numerous, an inventor, a farmer, and a mechanic. He was well known throughout the Alliance area and retired from American Steel Foundries after 34 years of service as a maintenance welder and safety supervisor. He was a welding instructor and also a contract welder. Many of his highly skilled welds kept businesses in production. He had also worked at Union Metal and Hopple Gasline Construction. He served in the U.S. Army at the Weapons Proving Grounds at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He was top of his class and came under the notice of President Eisenhower.
Kibby was an extraordinary, compassionate, hardworking and giving man, often putting others before himself. His helpfulness and advice will surely be missed by many. His mother called him "The Peacemaker" for all. He was a friend to all people and living things. He was an avid reader, researcher, problem solver, gardener, story teller and cook. His integrity, work ethic, quick wit and sense of humor were his trademark.
Besides his parents and grandparents, Dick was preceded in death by brothers, Jerry Kibler, Kenneth (Becky) Kibler and Donald Kibler; son, Richard Duane Kibler and son-in-law, Scott Tisher. He is survived by siblings, John (Victoria) Kibler, Ellen (Brian) Bickel and David (Sharon) Kibler. He was a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his most precious blessings, his children: Maressa Kibler of North Canton, Theresa (Tim) Sebrell of Minerva, Cynthia (Dave) Radalia of Canton and Russell Kibler of Alliance; his grandchildren: Joshua Tisher, Desiree' Kibler, Connor Kibler, Jarrod Sebrell and Kristin, Morgan and Lauren Radalia; great-grandsons, Scott and Riley Tisher; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
