Richard A. Nidy, age 65, of Alliance, passed away at 12:37 a.m. August 2, 2018, at Aultman Compassionate Care Center.
He was born March 16, 1953, in Ravenna, Ohio, to Richard and Maxine (Hartman) Nidy.
Dick was a graduate of Alliance High School and enjoyed rooting for the Cavs, Indians and the local teams of both Alliance and Marlington High Schools.
A fixture at the Silver Park ballfields, Dick was the scorekeeper for the Alliance Softball League and the Special Olympics for many, many years.
Survivors include his sister, Carol Worlow of Sebring; brothers, Keith (Christine) Nidy of Uniontown and Russ Nidy of West Palm Beach, Florida; brother-in-law, Tom Collier; and many nieces and nephews, whom Dick enjoyed watching their numerous sporting events.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Donna Erisey and Nancy Collier.
A celebration of Dick's life will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the Silver Park Pavilion across from the ballfields.
