Richard B. Wollam, age 80, of Alliance, died at 2:10 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2013, at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born December 31, 1932, in Alliance, to Walter M. and Marguerite (Ailes) Wollam.
An Alliance High School graduate, Richard also attended Mount Union College. He was employed as a production coordinator for Alliance Machine Company.
He attended First Friends Church and the Chapel in Marlboro. Survivors include his wife, Nancy (Edinger) Wollam, whom he married September 10, 1950; children, Cindy (Dennis) Hill and Richard M. (Sheree) Wollam, both of Alliance; Ted Wollam of Durham, NC, and Rebekah (John) Simcic, of Springdale, PA; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Walter A. Wollam of Gainesville, FL.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Marilyn Hitchcock.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with grandson, Rev. Kevin Burkholder of Goss Memorial Church in Akron officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Akron Children's Hospital, 1 Perkins Square, Akron, Ohio, 44308 or to the Alliance Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, 885 S. Sawburg Rd, Suite 106, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
