Rita E. Elliott (Wilson) Gorman, age 68, of Alliance, passed away at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born February 25, 1944, in Alliance, to Richard T. Elliott and Sylvia (Wilson) Wright and has been a lifetime Alliance resident.
Rita, a 1962 graduate of Alliance High School, worked as a sales clerk at Rite Aid Drug Store until her retirement. She loved quilting and sewing.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Gorman, of Alliance, whom she married August 29, 1963; her children, Michael (Turra) Gorman of Massillon, Marcia Gorman-Burkeen (Daniel) of Ramer, TN, and Mark (Dawn) Gorman of Hudson; stepson, Lawrence (Lori) Gorman, Jr. of Milford, OH; grandchildren, Daniel Burkeen, II, Brittney Burkeen and Hannah Gorman; brothers, Ronald (Jim) Wilson and Randy K. Wilson; sister, Melody Six; several nieces and nephews; and good friends, Darlene Williamson, Terrie Wilson and Diane Bahry.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Christina Gorman: and twin brothers, Alvin and Calvin Wilson.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012, at Freeburg Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2012, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Freeburg Cemetery.
