Robert E. Burden, age 77, of Alliance, passed away at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born March 3, 1932 in Alliance to Oscar and Grace (Stone) Burden and was a lifelong Alliance resident.
A United States Army Veteran, he was retired from the Ravenna Arsenal.
Survivors include his wife, Nira B. (Mcie) Burden whom he married February 16, 1957; two sons, James Burden of Alliance and Gary Burden of Youngstown; grandsons, Charles Burden of Minerva and Benjamin Burden of N. Canton; two great-grandchildren, Drake and Darek; and a sister, Carolyn Jordan of Alliance.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathleen.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2010 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
