Robert Wade Curtis, age 88, of Copeland Oaks, Sebring died at 5:45 a.m. Monday, November 10, 2008 at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born in Phalanx Station, Ohio, on May 18, 1920 to Albert P. and Ruby (Hill) Curtis.
Robert was a graduate of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was employed at the former Babcock and Wilcox Research Center in Alliance as a Mechanical Engineer until retiring. He was a member of the Beechwood United Methodist Church and enjoyed woodworking.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre while serving in World War II.
Survivors include his daughter, Susan (Mark) Scaia of St. Louis Mo; his son, Donald Curtis of Sebring; four granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Glenora (Ern) Curtis whom he married October 19, 1946 and who died November 12, 1997; two brothers, Walter and Harold and a sister, Dortha.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Richard Wallace, Pastor of Beechwood United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call from noon - 1:30 p.m. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
