Robert Paul Graham Sr

August 22, 1925 — December 28, 2016

Bob Graham, 91, of Alliance, passed on to eternity at 10:55 a.m., December 28, 2016. He breathed his last, resting peacefully at home, just as he wished. He was born August 22, 1925, in Deerfield, Ohio, to Clair and Lucy (Freytag) Graham and resided in the Alliance area all of his life. Bob was a current member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He proudly served in the United States Navy, in the South Pacific, from 1943 - 1945. After working several years at Babcock & Wilcox, Rush Street plant, he became a self-employed house painter. Bob loved to vacation and take afternoon rides around the area, where he always pointed out the houses that he had painted. He was a great story teller and loved to recount the days of his youth, especially as they related to finding and marrying Dorothy, the woman of his life, who preceded him in death in 2004. His lasting accomplishment will be the love, care and support that he gave to his extended family. Those left to carry on are his two sons, Robert P. II and wife, Debby (Tate); Shawn and wife, Marsha (Rinehart); plus a daughter, Kathryn Young, all living in the Alliance area. His family was also blessed by three grandchildren, Jessica (Maurice) Frank, parents of great-grandsons, Ethan and Owen; Melissa (Joshua) Perkins, parents of great-grandchildren Noah, Bella, Lily and Evan; and Bob's only grandson, Robert J. (Emily Drach) Graham, parents of great-grandchildren, Ryan, Elle, Brady, Emerson and Madelyn. In addition, Bob has one surviving brother, Richard of Sebring. He had three brothers, Jack, Clair Jr. and Raymond, who along with his parents, preceded him in death. A memorial service will be held in Bob's honor on a date to be announced, later. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Alliance Hospice or the American Cancer Society. There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: God has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toila"this is the gift of God. I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it.
Ecclesiastes 3
