Robert W. Greene, age 84, of Alliance, formerly of Springfield, Ohio, died at 10:08 a.m. Monday, April 12, 2010 at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born May 27, 1925 in Wilmington, Ohio to Robert and Mary (Naylor) Greene and has been an Alliance resident since 2005.
Robert was employed at the former Steel Products and was also a realtor, both in Springfield, Ohio.
A member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Springfield, he also attended First Church of God in Alliance.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association, an avid hunter and fisherman, and a master Craftsman with wood. He most importantly loved his Lord and his church.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Greene of Alliance; daughters, Sue (Pastor Larry) Murphy of Alliance and Candace (Gregory) Heath of Napoleon; grandsons, Joel Murphy of Alliance, Nathan (Lisa) Heath of Akron and Jacob Heath of Napoleon; granddaughters, Jessica Murphy of Carstairs, Canada and Sarah (Robert) Diaz of Wauseon; great granddaughters Addison Heath of Akron and Abagail Diaz of Wauseon; one niece; and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Dale.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010 at First Church of the Nazarene in Springfield, Ohio co-officiated by Pastor Larry Murphy and Pastor Keith Sarver. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church in Springfield, Ohio. Interment will be at held at Rosehill Memorial Park.
