Robert A. Hahn, age 88, of Minerva, died at 8:20 a.m., Friday, October 1, 2010 at Great Trail Care Center.
He was born May 27, 1922, in Homeworth, Ohio, to Harry and Helen (Ball) Hahn.
Robert graduated from Alliance High School and attended Ohio State University. He was a rural mail carrier for Homeworth and the vicinity. He worked on a spot welding machine at Milcor Steel in Canton, was maintenance electrician at Republic Steel and also worked as a salesman at Robert's Men and Boys Clothing Store from 1961-1984. After retirement, Robert enjoyed traveling in the United States and Canada, and touring Europe, Asia, South America and New Zealand.
He was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Fourth Armored Division during World War II. Robert was a member of the Middle Sandy Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Homeworth, where he was a choir member. He was a charter member of both the George D. Worth American Legion Post No. 574 of Homeworth and the Homeworth Lions Club.
Survivors include his sister, Shirley Burdick of Minerva: and cousins, Bill Hahn of Alliance; Barrie Kridler of Homeworth, Tom and Donna Lamp of Sebring, Jim Hahn of Weaverville, California and Sharon Brown of Sarasota, Florida.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Middle Sandy Evangelical Presbyterian Church with Pastor Tom Sawyer officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
