Robert W. Holsopple, age 79, of Youngstown, died at 3:10 p.m. Thursday Nov. 30, 2006 at Liberty Health Care Center.
He was born July 19, 1927 in Alliance to Russell Dunham and Bessie Bernadette (Himes) Holsopple and was a lifelong area resident.
Robert was a 1948 graduate of Alliance High School and was an Alliance Post Office mail carrier for 25 years until retiring in 1987.
He was a member of First Christian Church for over fifty years. Robert also was a member of Mended Hearts, Marlington Garden Club, AARP Alliance Carnation Chapter 3932, Alliance Senior Citizen Center, United Commercial Travelers and a life member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees and American Legion Post of Lake Placentia.
Mr. Holsopple served in the U.S. Air Force as a Sergeant during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his step-children Riley James (Marilyn) League of Alliance, Lucinda Kay League of Toledo, Beverly June (Warren) Dunham of McLean Va. and Mildred Jean (Larry) Jugenheimer of Hubbard; nine grandchildren; and one brother, Forest Milton Holsopple of Alliance.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Bessie Marie (King) Holsopple whom he married July 16, 1983 and who died May 3, 2002.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Pam Bruno officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
